Who We Are

The Mount Bird Studio is an independent illustration studio specializing in sketch-style vector art. Founded in 2014 in Almaty, Kazakhstan, by Alexander and Darya, a creative duo with over a decade of experience in illustration and design.

Our portfolio includes 4,500+ hand-drawn vector illustrations spanning cities and architecture, nature and botany, people and characters, animals and wildlife, food and objects.

We work with designers, creative agencies, publishers, packaging studios, and brands worldwide. Our illustrations are available as digital downloads with commercial license, and we accept custom commissions.

What makes our work different: No AI. Every illustration is hand-drawn, refined in vector format, and built for professional use. Scalable to any size. Consistent style across thousands of pieces.

Meet alexander

Alexander draws, and has been drawing his whole life. Raised in a family where art was the air: his father a celebrated impressionist of the Soviet era with works in the State Museum, his mother an art teacher and architect.

Trained as a director with a master's degree, he has made animated films shown at festivals across Europe and Asia, directed music videos, and worked as a set designer in contemporary theatre.

He has lectured at the Kazakh Leading Architectural Academy, and in 2022 exhibited as a contemporary artist at the 59th La Biennale di Venezia. Philosophy and art history quietly live inside every line he draws.

Meet darya

Darya holds the creative vision of the studio together, from the way a product looks to the way a client feels heard.

A multidisciplinary designer and art director, her background spans graphic, web, motion, and 3D design, photography, videography, and years of producing for state television and international film.

In 2022 she exhibited an installation at the 59th La Biennale di Venezia. What drives her is the belief that good design is never just aesthetic, it is strategic, intentional, and built to last.

Founded in Almaty in 2014, a husband-and-wife studio inspired by travel and classical art.
